About the Game

Star Fox Zero

An evil empire has risen and the Lylat system is in danger. As legendary space pilot Fox McCloud, blast through an onslaught of enemy forces to bring peace to the galaxy. In this white-knuckle space shooter, it’ll take more than luck to master the Arwing jet, the Gyrowing flight drone, and the Landmaster tank! You have what it takes. Now prove it. General Pepper needs your help! Use your TV’s cinematic view to fly and identify targets and see through the eyes of Fox with the Wii U™ GamePad’s screen as you lock onto enemies and fire. You’ll also have to use advanced flight techniques like boosting and barrel rolls to survive the relentless assault. With the help of the rest of Team Star Fox, tackle missions in the air and on the ground in a variety of planets teeming with enemies. Then engage vast armadas of powerful ships in outer space dogfights. Master your craft, defy the odds, and earn your face-to-face meeting with Andross. Only you can restore peace to the galaxy!

Multiple paths branch out to give players plenty of places to explore, and each route gives them a completely different experience and unique challenges.

Players will notice their skills get better and better over time, as they become top-notch pilots. In two-player mode, one player can fly the Arwing while the other player aims and shoots.

Fan favourite characters return with all-new and well-known dialogue from Fox McCloud, Slippy, Peppy, Falco and more.

Players can intuitively pilot an Arwing by simply using both the right and left control sticks as a control stick to perform familiar flight manoeuvres, such as the somersault, U-turn and a Barrel Roll.

Pilot the new and improved Arwing with its new Walker transformation and take control of a new Drone type plane, the Gyrowing. The Landmaster Tank returns, equipped with a new, limited flight form.

Replay the same exotic planets with other vehicles and extra missions can be selected on top of going through the story.

Developed in partnership with Platinum Games.

Compatible with the Fox amiibo figure, with it you will be able to play with the Arwing from the classic SNES game.

In Star Fox Guard, players set up 12 cameras to find and defeat enemies who are attacking the mining site of Slippy Toad’s uncle, Grippy Toad.

The game includes about 100 missions, but players can also create their own challenges by editing the placement of enemies and uploading them online.

Star Fox Zero:
Whilst many will either praise or complain about the motion controls, for me it was okay. Nothing special nor was it terrible.

Whilst the game looked breath taking-ly good on a TV screen, there was one gripe that I just couldn't get over. The cockpit-view. You'd either have to hold it in the most uncomfortable ways ever imagined or you'd have to endure bobbing your head up and down like a parakeet in heat.

Star Fox Guard:
A fun little game, if you liked Super Mario Maker you'll love this.

T-Shirt:
I ordered an XL for the comfort of it being a lounge about at home tee. Whoever that modelled the sizes of must have had some sort of eating disorder, my XL was pretty much the same size as a small which for a guy of my build (Not massive, just got very broad shoulders from moving homes all the time) is very unflattering. It felt like I was wearing an overstretched boob-tube.

Very good game if your familiar with star fox. Although it seems like more of a remake of the original than a brand new concept its nice to see the star fox team back again. The graphics are beautiful. I'm not a huge fan of the controls for shooting with the game pad as I think it makes you miss some of the action you would see better on screen. When I chose not to use these controls I did not like how the game suddenly decided to bombard me with quotes from characters that I should use the gyro controls. Aside from this its really fun. I enjoyed the interactions between the characters whilst playing and the different planets are amazing. The quality of the box art. The t shirt and the steel book arwing case is beautiful and well worth the cost. I would like abit more from the amiibo functionality instead of just two skins. They're nice but its a shame they don't do more and give you characters to play as or unlock alternative stories. Overall amazing!

Guard is fantastic. Didn't need the Star Fox theme it could have stood in it's own.

The steel book is lovely more of these please.

The t-shirt freebie is just awful.

Zero is uninspired and awkward to play. It doesn't feel like the brand has progressed at all. It's almost entirely hinged of nostalgia rather than bringing the franchise up to date. The controls are terrible and cumbersome. Would have been much better with a Wiimote and nunchuck combo like Sin & Punishment on Wii (where has that IP gone?). Would have also allowed for a game that actually looked nice too.

I'm surprised at this game. It feels unfinished, unpolished, and generally rushed. As a big Nintendo and StarFox fan since the 90s, I feel let down by the company with StarFox Zero. Learning that Mr Miyamoto was involved with so many baffling design choices and a severe lack of quality control is very damaging to my opinion of Nintendo's in house studios. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone, and frankly I expect better from Nintendo.
