Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue / Neon Red Joy-Con Controllers

The versatile Joy-Con offer multiple surprising new ways for players to have fun. Two Joy-Con can be used independently in each hand, or together as one game controller when attached to the Joy-Con grip. They can also attach to the main console for use in handheld mode, or be shared with friends to enjoy two-player action in supported games. Each Joy-Con has a full set of buttons and can act as a standalone controller, and each includes an accelerometer and gyroscope motion sensor, making independent left and right motion control possible.

Nintendo Switch also contains a number of built-in features that make it more interactive. The left Joy-Con has a Capture Button that players can press to take instant screenshots of gameplay to share with friends on social media. The right Joy-Con includes an NFC touchpoint for interaction with amiibo figures, as well as an IR Motion Camera that can detect the distance, shape and motion of nearby objects in specially designed games. For example, it can tell how far away a player’s hand is, and even if the hand is forming a rock, paper or scissors shape.

Both Joy-Con include advanced HD rumble, which can provide compatible games with subtle vibrations that are much more realistic than before. The effect is so detailed that a player could, for example, feel the vibration of individual ice cubes colliding inside a glass when shaking a Joy-Con. With HD rumble you can experience a level of realism not possible through sights and sounds alone.

Nintendo Switch makes it easy for players to stay connected. Up to 8 consoles can be connected for local wireless play. By placing the console upright using the built-in kickstand, players can independently use the left and right Joy-Con controllers to experience multiplayer fun anywhere. The console will support online Wi-Fi multiplayer gaming. Nintendo also unveiled a new online subscription service that will begin with a free trial at launch. The service includes a smart-device application available in summer 2017 that will let users invite friends to play online, set play appointments, and chat with one another as the play compatible games. The fully featured paid service will be available in autumn.

  • Monitor what your child is playing - you can see which video games your child has been playing, and for how long.
  • Restrict your child's gaming access based on their age.

I feel this console is fantastic, great fun, looks great, feels great and everything about the software is super smooth, however it's lacking features like YouTube or Netflix, streaming apps like that, it would make me want to use it all the more! However, for a console that plays games this well and works as well as it does it is still not majorly important just something I would really like to have

Everything about the switch is perfect besides the lack of applications such as youtube and netflix. The games build and functionality is great.

The system was very easy to use, I can smoothly transition between playing in portable mode as well as the TV mode. The Design/Build quality let down the system slightly in my opinion as the dock that was bundled with the device seems fairly cheap compared to the device's overall quality and I am worried that this may damage the already fragile screen when I insert the console into the provided dock, this led me to invest in products that I have no need for with my other portable products, including my Google Pixel phone, PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS, the products I invested in included a screen protector as well as a sleeve for the dock, these are both products that I feel would be unnecessary if it wasn't for the dock. Whilst on the subject of build quality, the triggers on the Joycons because slightly loose when compared to a new pair of Joycons, this happened after I had accidentally dropped my Joycons and I admit that it was completely my fault and therefore this case could be completely justified but I does make me a bit disappointed because being a former Xbox 360 owner as well as a current PlayStation 4 owner, I must say that no matter how many times I drop my controller the thing as a whole has remained very study throughout their lifespan. The graphics were of a slightly lower quality compared to the Playstation 4's and Xbox One's graphics, but I person like myself is not bothered by graphics that often as I believe that gaming is more about the experience as well as having a ton of fun which is what Nintendo provides to me very well. The multimedia functionality is lacking compared to other consoles, especially compared to the NVIDIA Shield, but this comment might be unjustified as the console is very new, but in the future I would very much like to see applications like YouTube, Amazon Prime and Twitch (for a few examples) available on the console in the future.
